Equity’s Mother Laid To Rest In Grand Style.
The remains of the mother of Mr. Chibueze Nwawuba, popularly known as “Equity,” Late Mrs. Beatrice Nwawuba Nwaogazie Nwafejo, of Umuoduchi Umuelekwe, Mgbala- Agwa Autonomous Community, Oguta L.G.A, Imo State, has been laid to rest.
A statement made available to INSIDE AGWA News-Newspaper noted that the final journey from the Gate Way Mortuary, Ogbaku, Mbaitoli LGA, Imo State, began at about 10:00am on Saturday, the 26th of April, being Nkwo Market day at a motor cascade, which was followed with a brief stop-over at her maiden home of Mmadu Akubuiro family, Umuokorie, Umukpo, Uwaorie Autonomous Community, and another at the first son’s house, Mr. Obinna Nwawuba at Mgbala, Agwa Autonomous Community, all in Oguta LGA of Imo State, before the body arrives the Umuoduchi, Umuelekwe, and was received by the Nwawuba family in companying of the Myriads of Gospel Dynasty members where she worshipped before her demise for lying-in-state around 12:00 noon.
The viewing of the corpse led by the officiating Minister of Myriads of Gospel Dynasty terminated with the bringing out of the corpse for a funeral service officiated by the founder of the church, Pastor Chinoso Abiaziem.
In his sermon, Apostle Chinoso Abiaziem emphasized the importance of soul-searching, a good relationship with God, and being eternity-driven.
He described the late Mama Beatrice Nwaogazie Nwafejo, as a loving mother who loved him like his children and an accountable woman who served God without reproaches.
Apostle Chinoso’s message was a lead-up message that married together the oral testimonies of the life and times of centenarian, Mr. Obinna Nwawuba, first Son, Mrs. Bernadette Ezeocha, second daughter, Mrs. Nkechinyere Nwawuba, daughter-in-law and two other testifiers from the Myriads of Gospel Dynasty and the Umuoduchi Umuelekwe family.
After that session, the children and family members were called out for payers, after which a token was handed over to Mr. Obinna Nwawuba, representative of the family, by the church, as their little support before the corpse was taken to the graveside for interment.
The body of Mama Beatrice Nwaogazie Nwafejo, aged 103 years (1922-2025), was lowered to the ground via a casket-lowering device amidst the mammoth crowd who came to pay their last respect by 1:20 pm, officially bringing to an end a successful and befitting Church burial.
The second phase of the burial begins with Ikonye (a presentation of food items by all the daughters-in-law, daughters of Mama Beatrice Nwaogazie Nwafejo) to the all married women of Umuokorie Umukpo Uwaorie Autonomous Community.
Items like a minimum of a Cord stock fish in the tune of #70,000 to #100,000 above, big dry fish, tubers of yam, bread, a tin of beverages, and others were presented to Umuokorie Umukpo women as a rite of passage in honor of Mama Beatrice Nwaogazie Nwafejo in the underworld.
In appreciation, the Umuokorie Umukpo women appreciated the daughters and daughters-in-law for honoring their late mother and, most especially, Mrs. Nkechinyere Nwawuba, the wife of Equity, whose presentation was the most catchy and outstanding as they, Umuokorie women held the fishes and gyrated round the environment up to Wafia Ama, Mgbala.
The environment was lit up by the presence of different cultural groups and troupes especially, the Sharma Melody Life Band team, the Mbano Golden Boys Ogoni group, the undertaker’s displays, and members of the Myriads of Gospel Dynasty Church, who did not only displayed their love for Mama Beatrice Nwaogazie Nwafejo, but their commitments in the soul and repose of the character persona of the virtuous woman, whom according to the testimony of the church described her as a ‘committed and accountable woman to the growth of the church’
