South-East States- Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo, used to be a beehive of bubbling states owing to their peaceful nature since their creations, but the advent of Sit-at-home order on Mondays started the region has not only become an economically wasteful day but a day characterized with pockets of human and property losses.

In commemoration of the Biafran Day Memorial, May 30, 2024, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOP) members, allegedly declared sit-at-home in all the regions of South-East, thereby, causing economic deadlock as well as plunging the regions into losing billions of naira because not engaging in any economic activities.

Inside Agwa News (IAN) gathered that the exercise went sad in Aba, Abia State as the sit-at-home order enforcers, had a fierce gun duel with the Nigerian Army officers who were on official security routine checks as well as mounting roadblocks to condone off the sit-at-home order enforcers and in the process, two soldiers Sergeant Charles Ugochukwu, and Corporal Ikpeama, were shot dead along Obikabia Junction, Obi Ngwa, Aba, Abia State.

Recall that the members of IPOP commenced enforcing sit-at-home orders to press home their demand for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the supreme leader of the proscribed group, who has been under the custody of the DSS since his abduction at the Jomo Kenyatta’s International Airport in Kenya, in June 2021, and was moved back to Nigeria.
