From Ogechi Ibe, Onuimo

In the spirit of the Easter Celebrations, the House Member of Onuimo State Constituency, Hon. Chief James Uba Esile, has taken time off to interact with members of his constituents in this period of festivities.

When addressing the people of Onuimo Local Government in his humble country home, Umuogbuanu Umucheke, Okwe, Onuimo Local Government Area, Imo State, during the Easter Celebration, Esile thank the people for supporting our God-sent Governor, Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Hope Uzodimma, CON, DSSRS for his good work in Imo State.

According to the articulate and vibrant lawmaker, “Uzodimma is committed to selfless service and total development of Imo state.” He likened the Governor to a perfect example of a “Rescue Missioner” whose eyes are on the ball and who does not get distracted from the tasks ahead. Only the result is expected!

Dr. Uzodimma remains the best Governor in the modern history of Imo in developmental and econometrics terms who came by sheer dint of faith and divine providence to save Ndi-Imo from total collapse of both structures, super structures, infrastructural and human capital development.

Uzodimma’s administration heralds a new lease of hope and systemic overhaul in bureaucratic, managerial, and administrative ways of conducting government activities, which has greatly improved the revenue of the State.

What else can a man who met an almost empty treasury with less than a billion as State Internally Generated Revenue (IGR)? Before Senator Uzodimma emerged as the Governor of Imo State, the IGR of the State stood at less than a billion monthly, but under Uzodimma, Imo generated over 4 billion monthly and over 23 billion annually.

Uzodimma met disoriented and arm-begging civil servants, clothes in massive corruption and riddled with ghost workers and a manipulative payroll system. The worst of it was that they did not have a decent place to conduct their daily work, today, the State civil block buildings are in excellent condition and the State saved 2 billion naira from the savings made after the Governor introduced the biometrics and BVN policy system, which blocked ghost workers from receiving salaries they do not work for.

Uzodimma was recently awarded the Infrastructural Governor of the Year 2024 by the Vanguard Newspaper Limited, an award that was well deserved after reviewing over 120 road constructions in five years by his administration, the Owerri-Orlu road, the Owerri-Okigwe road, the Owerri-Umuahia road, the Oguta-Mgbidi road, the Omumuma road, ongoing construction of the Asumpta flyover, Concorde Hotel, Imo International Conference, among other roads projects that was completed and ongoing.

Have we forgotten the Water Smith refinery and the industrial park? The upgrading of Alvan Ikoku College of Education to a Federal College of Education? The newly upgraded Imo Federal Teaching Hospital makes Imo State the first in South-East and South-South with three Federal Universities.

In the health sector, the Uzodimma administration has fully funded the primary health center and introduced the Imo Free Mobile Clinic, a program aimed at improving healthcare delivery in rural communities, the Imo health insurance scheme, and the Health-Drug-Revolving Scheme.
To strengthen health delivery, the governor has constructed, renovated, and equipped a couple of hospitals in Oguta, Omumuma, Umuokanne, Okigwe, etc.

Today, every sector in Imo state is functioning appropriately, with the deepening of governance, especially the gender-sensitive driven policy, and inclusivity, bringing the traditional rulers and community President-Generals helping to tame the tide of governance in synergy with the elected council chairmen and. councilors are all credited to his administration.

Governor Hope Uzodimma, as a consummate administrator, a homeboy, and the only governor outside Dr. Samuel Onunaka Mbakwe, has studied the political trajectory of the State,, and he is using the variables he deduced to work for the people.

Uzodimma remains the only modern government in the history of Imo to have activated over 140,000 hectares of farmland across the states where Imo youths are gainfully engaged, including the skill-up Imo youths program in ICT, agriculture soft-tech engineers, and technicians. These numbers of over 5000 Imo youth graduated from the Imo skill-up program where, in turn, equipment with computers and other electronic gadgets to work and earn a living with so many of them working with big companies like Zenos, Konga, Opay, Moniepoint, etc.

While we are rejoicing and celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the hallmark of Easter, we as a people should be grateful enough that God gave us a man with a good heart like the Governor. A leader who is unselfish and committed to developing the state.

Hon Chief James Uba Esile, (Fresh Air), urged Onuimo Local Government to remain peaceful, grateful, and supportive at all times of the transformative agenda of the 3R administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma.
