The Eleven Ward Chairmen of APC led by Mr. Christian Okoro, on Thursday 16 May 2024, paid a condolence visit to Dr. (Bishop) Gideon Nwaeze in his Owerri residency, over the death of her lovely wife, Lolo Regina Ihuoma Nwaeze who went to be with the Lord on Saturday, 11 May 2024.

In their condolence message, the spokesperson of the group, Mr. Christian Okoro said “We are here in the spirit of solidarity, to be with our father, leader, and mentor over the death of our mother. Death is a natural thing. It happens to all living things. But we are happy that Mama Regina lived a happy and modest life. And has not left us hopeless.

“We are proud to associate ourselves with her. She taught some of us as a teacher, and we knew what she stood for. We take solace in the good life she lived and the legacies she established. As the Ward Chairmen of Oguta, we are strongly behind you in this trailing period, and shall always support you when the funeral arrangement shall be announced.

“We know that you are a strong man, and as a husband who loved her wife, it might not be easy at this time. But be strong, God will strengthen you through and after this ordeal.”

Receiving the party faithful, Dr. Nwaeze, who was a former Chairman of Oguta LGA, and the APC Apex Leader, thanked the visitors for finding time to come and mourn with him.

I received your visit with a profound heart. Not every leader would so be remembered. Thank you for recognizing me. My wife and I have gone a long way, but it pleases God, whom we serve to take his decision. Though God’s decision may be hard on us, the Bible enjoins us, “To always submit to his perfect will”. I know my wife is resting with God, so my power is limited”, Nwaeze concludes.

Those who spoke during the visit and aligned their thoughts with the spokesman, Mr. Christian Okoro, APC Chairman Obudi/Aro Ward include:

  1. Hon. Henry George, Oguta Ward “B”.
  2. Hon. Dominic Ikpeama, Awa Ward.
  3. Hon. Uche Okafor Osemoto/Enuigbo Ward.
  4. Comr. Chigozie Izunwanne, Uwaorie Ward.
  5. Hon. Emmanuel Udom, Oguta Ward “A”.
  6. Hon. Ifeanyi Nwauwa, Ndeolukwu/Umuowere Ward.
