The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is gradually gaining traction with its “Renewed Hope Mantra” in the country. Like an airplane, it runs before flying!
The first two years were the foundation-laying stage with strong economic pillars to carry the weight of sociopolitical and socioeconomic changes that would be brought to bear for economic and political development.
Mr President would not have done this alone without empowering the necessary economic and political structures that will bring about these changes. In fact, in one of his media interactions at the Aso Rock villa, the president was quoted to have said, “In our resolve to make the country work for all Nigerians with the Renewed Hope Agenda, I am happy that Hope Uzodimma is here, so I have hope; the country has hope.”
One of the best decisions the APC presidency made among the progressive governors was to see to the emergence of the Governor of Imo State as the chairman of the APC Governor’s Forum.
The chairman of the Governor’s forum is not only providing star-like leadership to the party but is also committed to the ideals and ground norms of the APC with his partisanship and ideological views in political matters.
Beyond the political success stories of the party at the center and across the States, there is a man who is strategically engaging stakeholders for political and party victories, particularly in the seasoned elections in Edo and Ondo States, where the APC did not only emerge victoriously but won with a landslide.
Amidst the political tsunami hitting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the gale of defections from Maiduguri to Delta State, the chairman of the progressive Governors, in line with the national chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and the sterling leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has provided the needed governance attractive to the opposition to join.
As a tenacious and tacit lobbyist, the Chairman of the APC governor’s forum is doing just that in keeping the party united within the geopolitics of the country and converting the opposition to join the APC in building the nation and providing the dividends of democracy.
The official ceremony of the defectors witnessed the crème de la crème of the APC led by the Vice-President of the country, as the representative of the President, Senator Kashim Shetima to Asaba, the seat of power of Delta State, Rt Hon. Benjamin Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, and the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum, 16 APC Governors, serving and former ministers and lawmakers, members of the APC National Working Committee (NWC), former Governors, LGA bosses from the 25 local government areas, and 500 ward councilors.
The Leadership of the Noble Grassroot For Hope, NGH, therefore, congratulates the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, DSSRS, for leading the All Progressive Congress (APC) to welcome defectors into the progressive party.
The political significance of welcoming the incumbent Governor and his deputy, Sheriff Oborevwori, and former Governor of Delta State and the presidential running mate of the PDP, alongside Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 presidential elections, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, and their supporters into the APC goes beyond political rhetoric and razzmatazz. In simple terms, Delta State is now a progressive state!
In another development, the Noble Grassroots has started putting structures ahead of its statewide leadership summit in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, by erecting a giant billboard at the Orlu Road axis of Owerri/Okigwe road. It is expected that the billboard will get across other strategic locations to increase the visibility of the summit and support the 3R Government of Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma.
The Summit will also discuss issues of state concern and ways to deepen grassroots support for the government of Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, who is dotting the state with physical and non-physical infrastructural development as well as improving workers’ well-being. It will, among other things, present the report of the 27 local government coordinators as it relates to their activities in the LGA and the way forward.
The association also salutes the courage and the effort of Noble Grassroot For Hope State Women Mobiliser, Hon. Chiaka Chikwe, a.k.a. Igolo Municipal, the President, and Vice-President of the association, Hon. Protus Duru, and all the LGA Coordinators and 305 Ward Coordinators for advancing the noble course of Noble Grassroot For Hope, as we build with the government of Uzodimma for a better tomorrow.
