The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has declared that the 2024 Local Government Elections will take place on Saturday, October 5th, 2024.
This decision followed a meeting today between RSIEC and various stakeholders.
The meeting featured the presentation of the election timetable and guidelines for the forthcoming Local Government Elections in the state.
This announcement initiates the preparation phase for the elections, following Governor Sim Fubara’s dissolution of the former councils at the end of their tenure.
