The Chairman All Progressive Congress, APC, in Mbaitoli LGA of Imo state, Hon.Chinonye Agogbuo, on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025, played host to the executives and stakeholders of the APC in Owerri zone who visited Mbaitoli LGA to discuss the way forward to the progress and development of the party in the LGA reputed as the most populous in Owerri zone, and Imo state’s democracy.
Addressing the meeting/visit by the Owerri zonal executives of the party at the Mbaitoli APC secretariat, Ubomiri, Hon. Agogbuo, while also thanking the team for the visit, expressed readiness of the Mbaitoli APC to deliver the party to victory in periodic elections in the years ahead, even as he reaffirmed support for the Governor of Imo state, Sen. Hope Uzodimma led Shared Prosperity administration in the state.
Also admonishing APC faithful in Mbaitoli LGA to remain steadfast and supportive of the party to consolidate on the gains of Gov. Uzodimma’s purposeful administration benefitable to the people of Mbaitoli LGA, Hon. Agogbuo, however, cautioned them against indulging in acts of disloyalty to the party, among others, which he said, are capable of plunging the party in a state of disunity and disarray.
He further warned those who recently engaged themselves in a purported plot to unseat him from office to tread with extreme caution, insisting that such attempts would rather do more harm to the party in the LGA than good, recounting the progress so far achieved by the party under his chairmanship.
Agogbuo also regretted that cases of disloyalty among some dissident elements in the party would only serve as catalysts for the destruction of the party and the benevolence of Gov. Uzodimma’s administration in Mbaitoli LGA.
Earlier in his speech during the meeting/visit, the Chairman of APC in Owerri zone, Chief Justice Ogu appealed to the leadership of the APC in Mbaitoli LGA to imbibe the culture of unity of purpose to move the party to greater heights.
He informed that Gov.Uzodimma has promised to hand over the mantle of governorship of Imo state to Owerri zone under the platform of the APC, and called on the Mbaitoli APC leadership to work in synergy towards the actualization of the Governor’s promise to Owerri zone.
Dignitaries in attendance during the meeting/visit include; the Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA, Hon. Ifunanya Nwanegwo, Hon. Innocent Ikpamezie (member representing Mbaitoli state-constituency in the IMHA), the Vice Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA, Mrs.Rose Onyeji, the Leader of the Mbaitoli Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Frank Onyeji, the Deputy Governor of Imo state, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru represented by her Chief Press Secretary, Dr.Charles Uzopuo, Sir DM Agogbuo, Barr. Kezie Ogaziech and Barr. Kingsley Ononuju.
Others are; Hon.Wilson Nwafor, Dr. Samuelson Emehibe, Hon.Kelechi Obi(Vice Chairman of Mbaitoli APC), Mbaitoli APC women leader, Dame Isabella Asinobi, Hon. Ifeanyi Nnataraonye, Sir George-Bede Duru, Hon(Mrs) Maria Mbakwe, Chief Augustine Okwara, Hon.Chibueze Umez Nanna, Councilors and Supervisory Councilors among others.
The highlight of the meeting was the identification and accreditation of the Ward Excos, Councilors, Supervisory Councilors, Government Appointees, the Executive Chairman of Mbaitoli LGA, and the Vice Chairman, among others.
