Hon. Tochukwu Nwokoro wishes to use this medium to inform the general public, friends, mates, colleagues, and relatives of the funeral ceremony of his beloved mother, the late Mrs. Helen Nwadinkpa Nwokoro, who passed on to glory on July 29, 2024, aged 70 years. According to a press statement issued to that effect by Hon. Tochukwu, who is affectionately known as “Agbala,” there shall be a Christian service of songs in his husband’s compound on Thursday, the 20th, to be followed by the burial on Friday, the 21st, February 2025, respectively, by the Salvation Army Church, Imo State, while the thanksgiving service would be held on February 23, 2025, at the same church. Late Lolo Helen Nwadinkpa Nwokoro was a native of Umuokwara Ofeahia, Umuduru Egbeaguru, in the Onuimo Local Government Area, Imo State. She was a woman of valor and courage and a community leader whose leadership quality shone like gold. Her position in the welfare of the community from where she was coronated as Lolo was never in question, as she championed the course of the women of Umuokwara Ofeahia Umuduru Egbeaguru Chiefdom, Onuimo, LGA. Being a Lolo of the Chiefdom, which was bestowed on her as one of the traditional custodians of the culture, she used her position to ensure that the women under her care were abreast of the social ground norms of the Chiefdom and carried herself with every sense of modesty and womanhood. Lolo Helen was a pragmatic and virtuous woman, and was a supportive wife to the family, her immediate environment, and the community. She heralds nobility and loves good family lifestyles, a quality she transferred to her children. Lolo Helen was admired by families and friends for her honesty, modesty, and contentment. As a hard-working woman and mother, the late Lolo Helen was economically prudent. She was a businesswoman who used the proceeds from her business to support the family during and after the death of her husband, the late Chief Anthony Nwokoro (aka, Ihejiucheme). At the Salvation Army Church in Imo State, where Mama Helen Nwadinkpa Nwokoro worshipped until her death, she was a great addition to the body of Christ. She was one of the pillars of the church and participated in all the activities of the church. Against the perception of society towards women, particularly during her time, the late Lolo Helen refused to be overshadowed by the social forces that were prevalent during her days and distinguished herself as a star that cannot be engraved, hence she was a Lolo in the traditional sphere and a great opinion molder in the church of Jesus Christ, where she worshipped God faithfully without blemish.
