The Watchman Charismatic Renewal Movement, Aba Diocese, during the weekend, buried the late Pastor Cajetan Emerenini in his hometown, Umuodunam Umuofeke Autonomous Community, Agwa, in Oguta Local Government Area Imo. The burial, which drew several Diocesan and District Pastors and members, friends, and well-wishers across the country down to Umuofeke, could be said, at best, to be the last soul-winning crusade of the late servant of God, soul winner, and lover of humanity ministered abstractly to the living while resting in Heaven with his Creator. The corpse left the Aba mortuary in a large company of the Aba Diocesan congregants, business associates, family members, and friends and arrived in Umuodunam at about noon on Saturday, October 19, 2024. It was received by family members represented by Mr. Chinedu Emerenini and was immediately taken into a well-decorated house for lying-in-state. The lying in state, another sober and retrospective epoch, was coordinated by the Aba Diocesan designated coordinator, who witnessed friends and families going around the corpse to view the remains of the late preacher of the gospel amidst wailings, saintly remarks, and breaking down in tears by those who couldn’t fathom the reality of death and futility of mankind, and importantly, the physical longing of a truly “God’s General,” after which the casket was carried by the District Pastor to an open-but well-fancied and beautified place for the funeral church service.The biography read by one of his daughters spoke volumes of the impactful life of the late Pastor Cajetan Emerenini. In his sermon tagged “Where will you spend your eternity?” The Owerri Diocesan Pastor, Emmanuel Odinukwe, Esq., admonished Christian adherents to keep eternity in view in all their earthly transactions. He emphasized that those who have decided to follow Jesus Christ should know that it comes with denials of earthly desires with a heavenly reward hereafter. “If you have ever come into the ministry of the person lying lifeless today and will be committed to Mother Earth in a short while, you would agree that he followed Jesus in truth and spirit and died in the Lord.”I want us today to ask ourselves, “Where am I going to spend my eternity?” This is an important question, and the way you answer it depends on the way you will live your life, either as an eternity-driven person or as a hellfire bound. Pastor Cajetan, the man who blessed our souls with spiritual understanding and food, has run his race. Let us keep eternity in mind. It is real. Let us pray”, he said. Dr. Dominic Akabuiro, Esq., the Diocesian Pastor of Ibadan-Oyo, Ekiti, Osun, and Ondo States, and one of the spiritual sons of the late Cajetan, led the prayer for the children and families of the Dee Caje, as he was fondly called.”Before I pray for you, I want to make some remarks here. Your father lived a good life. He was a good man and one of the early converts of the Watchman in the 80s whom God used in different ways and places to win souls, deliver families, and build friends. I’m one of his sons, and I am bold to tell you all that God is faithful. The God whom your father and mother served faithfully will never put you people into shame.”Again, all of you are the seed of your father, whom he planted the words of God in you all. You are going to serve God. One of you here or your children is going to serve the living God, who your father died working in his vineyard. It might not be now, and I don’t know when, but I’m certain that God is faithful and will confirm his words,” he remarked. Dr. Dom prayed for the protection, favor, and sustained salvation of the children and family members of the late Pastor Cajetan Emerenini. The grave was blessed after the prayer as the corpse was carried to the graveside for interment with a grave-lowering device around 2 p.m. According to the biography, Pastor Cajetan Emerenini was born in September 1954 into the family of the Late Ihemebigem Emerenini of Umuodunam Community and the Late Mrs. Virginia Ndukwu of Umuohodi, all in Umuofeke Autonomous Community, Agwa Oguta LGA, Imo State. He began his elementary education at Umukpo Primary School, Agwa, and schooled to obtain his Standard Six Certificate with flying colors. Being the only child of his parents with large stepsiblings, there was a real challenge in furthering his education, primarily due to financial constraints. This development made him leave Agwa for Port Harcourt in search of a greener pasture to cater for himself and his family, doing several jobs legally just to survive. The late Cajetan would later relocate to Aba, Abia State, as an apprentice under the tutelage of Mr. Gilbert Ekenze. This new course of life was concluded in a loving and trust-friendly manner, leading his master to settle him customarily to start up his own. Combining his fairly used wear business known in Nigerian parlance as “Okirika at Line 1 Ahia Uhuru, Aba, Abia State, and ministry wasn’t a rosy sail, but as a determined person, he succeeded. Cajetan got married to a beautiful woman, the late Mrs. Chinwe Chinonyerem, and was wed at Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church, Aba, Abia State, and the marriage was blessed with male and female. As a devoted Christian who gave his life to Jesus Christ in 1985 with his late wife, he served God without reservation. His peaceful transition started on the evening of April 20, 2024, in Aba after a short illness. “Thank you, Jesus,” was his last word before he died.
