Agwa Welfare Trusted Citizens (AWTC)
Thank You All.
The leadership of the Agwa Welfare Trusted Citizens (AWTC) uses this opportunity to appreciate all sons and daughters of Agwa for their unalloyed support towards the scheduled mega rally and awareness program against crimes tagged “Agwa Say No To Crimes” on Easter Monday,21st April 2025.
We acknowledged the relentless sacrifices of Agwa youths, both at home and in the diaspora, and the financial and material support to ensure that the rally was done and impactful to the Agwa clan but was suspended on security reports that would not augur well if the rally were held.
Though, we regret the suspension of the rally which was intended to send strong messages to crime perpetrators to desist from such acts and encourage Agwa youth and the general public to fight against all crimes in Agwa, such as manslaughter, armed robbery, kidnapping, arson, vandalism, rape, car and motorcycle snatching, child trafficking, dealing in hard drugs and intake, cultism, and drug abuse, among others.
We want to urge all our members and Ndi-Agwa to remain firm, and peaceful in the course of a better Agwa where crimes shall be seen for what it is not otherwise.
Already, through our committed and persistent campaigns against crimes in Agwa, since we resolved to undertake this campaign, there has been a new feeling of safety in the clan and detour among crime syndicates, which has been felt in the communities.
We also commend the cooperation of the Agwa Central Union (ACU), the Agwa Police Division, the DSS Command, and others during the planning stage. Importantly, we commend Ndi-Agwa for attending the Agwa General Assembly organized by the apex body under the National President-General, Barr. Benson Akunya.
As a clan, we should be mindful of our actions in developing and moral terms. No clan without a central leadership and other subordinates’ bodies in advancing development succeeds.
The ACU, being the highest decision-making body in Agwa, should be supported, and other offshoots of social repairs should also be allowed to thrive in synergy with the ACU.
The Agwa Welfare Trusted Citizens, being conscious of the time due to where we are coming from, are elected to champion the campaign against crime in Agwa as well as facilitate other youth-friendly Programmes aimed at empowering the youths of Agwa.
Our next program shall be duly communicated to you all through our social platforms and other means of information dissemination in due course.
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of “Agwa Say No To Crimes” -Chief John Kennedy Ukaoha Chinedu, Coordinator, Engr. Japhet Ohaji Melah, Member; Mr. Oliver Iwu, Member; Mr. Josh T. Ndukwu, Member; Mr. Russel Ekenze, Member; and Rev. Ejimadu Ibe Johnmark, Member; under the umbrella of the Agwa Welfare Trusted Citizens (AWTC), we appreciate all of you for your kind support.
