The leadership of Agwa Central Union (ACU) Education Ad Hoc Committee, led by Professor Amanze Unagha, on Thursday, 16 May 2024, visited the Senior Principal of Agwa Secondary School Agwa, Mrs. Lois Emeakama.

Inside Agwa learned that the visit was premised on the ongoing rapport by the committee to see that the school registered students in the ongoing West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO). This was a result of the ” SOS calls” made by the principal of the school to the leadership of ACU some months ago that ASSA would be subjected to a de-registration policy of the Education Regulatory Board if she fails to register a minimum of 20 students in any of the external exams. Also, the Science Laboratory is in a bad state and needs urgent attention.

With this in mind, the President-General of ACU, Barr. Benson Chimezie mandated the Education Committee to take up the task and see that positive news is heard hence fundraising drive was initiated and Agwa sons and daughters responded.

Today marks the official handover of the sum of Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (#800,000) to the Principal to use and register students for the external exams “WAEC and NECO” to avoid being deregistered as an exam center.

Sometime last month, the committee also handed over the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (#500,000) to buy some laboratory equipment to enhance their studies.

For Agwa to be better in our time, investment in the education of the children must be intentionally prioritized.

Congratulations, to ACU and all who donated to make this happen.
