In a swift reaction to the allegations of land grabbing leveled against the All Progressive Congress, APC’s apex leader in Mbaitoli LGA, and former Chairman of the party in Imo state, Chief Marcellinus Nlemigbo (MARCON) by some youths from Nkaraha Community in Ohaji-Egbema LGA of the state, Chief Nlemigbo, has debunked the allegations, describing the allegations contained in the weekend edition of the Community WATCHDOG Newspaper issued on Friday, April,4,2025 as false and malicious.
Speaking with newsmen while making the reaction on Friday, April, 4,2025, Chief Nlemigbo, said that he bought the said land from the Federal Government of Nigeria 30 years ago, adding that people of the host community, Nkaraha in Ohaji-Egbema LGA were duly compensated by his way of job opportunities, scholarships, among others benefited by youths in the area, even when he didn’t buy the said directly from the community, as he expressed concern over the threat to his life and property by the said Ohaji-Egbema youths.
Chief Nlemigbo further hinted that when he bought the land from the Federal Government, he was quickly issued a Certificate of Occupancy, C.of.O, with which document to authenticate the land purchase from the Federal Government of Nigeria, while also noting that since he bought the land till date, no one or group of persons has ever threatened to trespass, let alone, let alone issue such threat to his life and property like the said Ohaji-Egbema youths.
However, the WATCDOG Newspaper report with the headline caption”Alleged Land Grabbing: Ohaji-Egbema youths declare war against Marcon Nlemigbo, Ban him from entering Nkaraha Community” sends signals of serious threat to the life and property of Chief Nlemigbo, as security agencies and Government of Imo state are expected to swing into to protect his life and property from harm by the dare-devil Ohaji-Egbema youths.
