…Thanks to him for the #1 million donation to families of victims of insecurity in Umucheke
The leadership of the Fresh Air Movement, Imo State, has congratulated Hon. James Uba Esile for his pragmatic and prudential representation at the Imo House of Assembly.
Director-General of the Fresh Air Movement, Hon. John Mbonu Uchenwoke-Ekperechi, a former Candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP) of Oguta State Constituency 2023 general elections, stated this while briefing journalists in Onuimo LGA of Imo state on the occasion of the New Year Stakeholders’ Interaction hosted by Hon.Esile in his Umucheke country-home, on Saturday, January 11, 2025.
The interaction had in attendance, the 19 Traditional Rulers in Onuimo LGA present, the Executive Chairman of Onuimo LGA, Hon. Dr. Paul Emeka Obi, ably represented by the Vice-Chairman, Hon. Ibegbu Eugene, the 19 political Presidents-General, the 10 elected Ward Councilors, and the 4 clan Presidents-General of Okwelle, Okwe, Umunna, and Umuduru Agulu and was highly successful.
Hon. John noted that Esile, who is the Founder and President of the Fresh Air Movement in Imo State, has done very well in the areas of education, infrastructure, sports, security, and empowerment.
In his remarks, he also thanked newsmen, adding that today is a happy day for all of all present at the occasion, particularly the Onuimolites, because of the event that brought us.
According to him, it is unprecedented owing to the confessions of the people, noting also that Hon. James Uba Esile is a rare gift to his people.
He further stated that the Onuimo state lawmaker is approaching representation in different ways that are uncommon to the people, all to the glory of God.
“Seeing the calibers of people seated here underscores quality representation and service to his people. First, Esile has shown that he knows the job of a legislator and its businesses, and has shown that he is accessible to his people, which proves his humility. That he is trustworthy, he can relate to all irrespective of creed or background, and above all, that he can unite his people.”
The DG noted that when Esile assumed office, he promised the people of Onuimo his 100% loyalty and commitment to the welfare and advancement of the people, and you would always hear him say in almost all his press releases that “Onuimo is not a political party.”
He informed me that such a statement can only come from a man who sees Onuimo LGA as his own and who is original in all he does.
“You are a Nigerian, and you know what happens here. It is very difficult for elected office holders in his right to relate to his people in the candor and manners Esile relates to his constituency. He promised from the first day that he would run an open-door policy both in the office and outside his office. I want to tell you today that the Onuimo state-constituency office in the Imo State House of Assembly; is the most visited among the 27 LGAs”.
Uchenwoke reels out some of the things Hon. Esile has achieved within the short space he has been in the office, including; the award of scholarships to 120 students from Onuimo LGA, reflecting the 19 Autonomous Communities; registration of JAMB/WACE for Onuimo students; appointment of 32 Special Advisers (SAs); and facilitating job employment for his people.
Esile is a constant voice in the legislative business, even as he has contributed to the sponsorship of so many bills and motions in the current 10th Assembly, including motions on the bad state of roads and erosion in Onuimo, which got the attention of the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, to direct the Ministry of Works through the Commissioner of Environment and Sanitation to begin work on the affected roads and eroded areas.
Esile has also worked in synergy with the executive chairman of Onuimo LGA, Hon. Paul Emeka Obi, to restore normalcy in Onuimo LGA.
“You are all aware of the unfortunate attacks by unknown gunmen in Onuimo on August 3, 2024, which led to the death of 9 people, after the incident, Esile, working with relevant security agencies, ensured that Onuimo became peaceful and liveable again.
Then capping these efforts with the announcement of a #1 million Naira cash donation to the families of the victims is very kind and empathetic of a generous leader,” Uchenwoke said.
Speaking further, the DG also acquainted journalists with the just-concluded 2024/2025 Christmas Championship donated by Hon. James Esile.
Before the competition began, he had an interactive session with his team to host the championship to unite and create opportunities through sports, he fulfilled this by bringing the former Super Eagles forward and the coach of Heartland FC, Owerri, Imo State, Emmanuel Amunike to grace the finals between Okwelle FC and Umuduru Agulu FC, played at Umunna Central School, which Okwelle won.
“I want to announce to you that at the end of that match, three talented players were picked up to have a football trial with the Heartland FC amateur team,” DG said.

Andy Maduako, the Leader of the House; members of the Onuimo Traditional Council, led by His Royal Highness, Eze Cosmas Eze, Chairman of the Council of Ndi Eze, Onuimo LGA; the Presidents-General led by Rev. Okechukwu Okechukwu, the Clan President-Generals, led by Comr. Onyeiwu Jehoshaphat, Onuimo leaders of thought, led by Hon. Charles Ijezie, immediate past Solad, Onuimo LGA, the women’s wing led by.Lolo Olivia, former Coordinator of Onuimo South Development Center, among others.
