The Honourable Federal Commissioner representing Imo State on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon Kyrian Chidiebere Uchegbu PHD has expressed happiness over the level of maturity and wisdom shown by Ndigbo in the recent national protest, describing the decision of all Igbos to shun the nation protest as a sign of maturity, patriotism, and goodwill.
Addressing newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State Capital shortly after his return from a crucial meeting with the Board Members of the Commission which bordered on the welfare of the teeming youths of the Niger Delta earlier this week, Hon Uchegbu thanked Ndigbo all over the country for their show of maturity, describing Ndigbo as a blessed specie with high sense of entrepreneurial skills that makes them succeed in any part of the world. According to him, every Igbo man has the inherent instinct to survive where others have ventured and failed; they are dogged, determined, and resolute in all their endeavors, hence the successes they have recorded in all parts of the country.

The ever-vibrant and youth-friendly Federal Commissioner thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma for his leadership roles in the South East as the Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum who has harnessed all the available resources to ensure peace, progress, security, and sustainable development in the South East.

Similarly, while extolling the leadership qualities of one of the great patriots of Nigeria, Late Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Ahajiegamba, who was President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo until his death recently by enumerating his numerous contributions towards the development of the Igbo nation as an entrepreneur, politician and administrator, Hon Uchegbu said the absence of protest in the entire South East is a clear indication that Igbos are united, dedicated and have reverence to the Governor of Imo State and other Governors of the South East States irrespective of party affiliation. He revealed the immeasurable contributions of the Royal Father of the South East, His Majesty, Eze Dr. E. C Okeke, the Chairman of South East Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers and Community Policing in the maintenance of unity, peace, and cohesiveness among the Igbos, hence this unity of purpose.

He maintained that with this show of maturity and political wisdom, Igbos all over the world have proven to be the most patriotic Nigerians and expressed optimism that with Governor Uzodimma’s political sagacity, Ndigbo will have many things to benefit from the Government while assuring of his determination to ensure that Imo State, especially the youths will be carried along in all the programs of the Niger Delta Development Commission and encouraged them to register for the ongoing Youth Internship Scheme under the Niger Delta Development Commission.
