(ROC), is glad to thank the Imo State Government, led by our amiable Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo, the Federal Government of Nigerià, Prince Dr. Henry Uzor Okafor, and the Honourable Commissioner for Niger Delta Affairs and Intelligence, for their intervention to call Sterling Global Oil Resources Limited to order.
It is very important to state here that Agwa, one of the single-most populated clans in Imo State and the largest in Oguta LGA, is a landlord to Sterling Global Oil Resources Limited.
Regrettably, after 17 years of lifting oil in large commercial quantities, Sterling cannot boast of any legacy projects done to benefit the people.
To say the least, Agwa does not have electricity, no motorable road, and other paucity of social amenities akin to life, yet it is a host to Sterling Oil Company.
We want to commend the effort of the governor and his team for giving Sterling Global Oil Resources Limited a matching order to start carrying out her corporate social responsibility (CSR) to the host clan after stopping them from operation for one week.
Once again, thank you, our amiable Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for coming to the aid of Ndi-Agwa and its environs that bore the hazardous effects of Sterling’s oil exploration, yet with no matching social benefit.
